The hotel had a fantastic beach, with turquoise water and white sand. the drinks were great, and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. the location was perfect, with plenty of activities on offer.
The hotel rooms were a little disappointing. They were a bit run down and not particularly clean.

Cheated out of a free sixth visit!!
In general: My partner and I stayed at the Breezes Varadero on five occasions and were promised a free sixth visit. However, that never happened, Breezes had our loyalty on five occasions and we got screwed!! I am back to Cuba in April and Breezes now Los Cactus wasn't even a consideration. It's sad that over the years the property has been allowed to deteriorate, the food was always an issue but the accommodations are sorely in need of repair. We always stayed in a Junior Suite in the two storey buildings. They once tried to put us in the hotel, even though we had paid for a Junior Suite. The hotel is horrible, the room was in need of so many repairs that it would have taken months to complete. I love Cuba and am looking forward to returning, I can't in good faith recommend this hotel. Do your homework and you won't be disappointed. The Cuban people are lovely, enjoy!! Location and surroundings: The location is ideal, close to everything and the surroundings are beautiful. Service: As long as you were tipping the service was good. Dining: The best meal of the day was always breakfast, but long line ups as there is only one food prep area for orders. The Italian restaurant was our go to for a decent meal. Room: Outdated rooms and the washrooms were hit or miss, air conditioned leaked on our last visit, flooded the room. Useful tips: Take condiments as they are non existent, tea, snacks and a drinking vessel.
